We are partnering with a leading top tier law firm who are seeking a talented Associate and Senior Associate to join its Employment team based in Sydney and Melbourne. This firm is renowned for providing premium quality, full-service legal advice to some of the most ambitious organisations worldwide.

About

The Employment team specialises in advising employers on a range of complex and intricate matters including:

- Employment and industrial relations
- Discrimination and equal opportunity
- Work health and safety
- Crisis management and incident response
- Executive and board-level matters

The team supports clients across various sectors, such as banking, aviation, retail, manufacturing, transport, and the public sector.

The Role

This position involves working closely with a group of highly regarded Partners and collaborating with a broader team of specialists. The role offers a mix of advisory, transactional, and contentious work, including:

- Advising on employment strategies and compliance
- Supporting workforce matters related to M&A transactions
- Handling enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, and other employment law challenges
- Representing clients in Fair Work Commission and anti-discrimination proceedings

You will also have the opportunity to lead and mentor junior lawyers, contribute to the team’s growth, and develop your own client relationships.

Ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

- 2-8 years post admission experience from a leading employment practice in a mid tier, national or top tier firm
- Demonstrated experience in employment law, including advising on M&A, industrial relations, and general protections matters
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
- A proactive and collaborative approach
- A drive to excel in a high-performing team
