Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Job Summary: This is a contract position (monthly or fortnightly), and the therapist will work directly with patients on a monthly basis to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' physical, emotional, and mental capabilities through detailed evaluations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Implement therapeutic exercises, techniques, and activities to improve motor skills, strength, coordination, and other necessary functions.
- Provide support and guidance to patients, their families, and caregivers to promote independence in daily living tasks.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, physical therapists, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Document patient progress, maintaining detailed and accurate records of treatments, goals, and outcomes.
- Educate patients on adaptive equipment and techniques to facilitate better function and independence.
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress or changes in their condition.
- Provide monthly reports summarizing patient progress and therapy effectiveness.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, therapy techniques, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Education: A degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) from an accredited program.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques and treatment methods.
- Ability to develop personalised, evidence-based care plans.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
