The Perks - Ordinary base rate of $40.15 (incl. 25% casual loading) + shift loadings and overtime where applicable - On-the-job training provided - Fully supplied and laundered uniform, boots and PPE - Supportive team environment - Income protection insurance - On-site canteen About Our Role - Production-based opportunities within a market-leading food manufacturing environment - Shift-based roles on a 7-day roster including day, afternoon and night shifts - Devonport-based position commencing early November 2025 Simplot Devonport seeks motivated applicants for opportunities within our Production department ahead of our 2025/2026 season. The site has a history in the local community (opened in 1942) and processes up to 28 tonnes per hour of fresh, locally grown Tasmanian vegetables for the frozen vegetable market. These opportunities contribute to intake, processing, packing, transport and storage of crops including peas, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, onions and Brussels sprouts. Working 8-hour shifts across a 7-day roster, with a focus on safety and quality within a modern facility. The first intake for the season will commence early November 2025. Base rates are $40.15 per hour (incl. 25% casual loading) plus shift loadings and overtime. What You Will Do Within our process, packing or logistics areas, Production Operator duties include (but are not limited to): - Inspection of incoming raw material - Safe operation of fixed plant processing and high-speed packaging equipment - Cleaning and sanitising of production lines - Accurate completion of daily shift logs and system entries - Forklift operations (where suitably licensed and experienced) - Adherence to GMP and food safety practices - Contribute to continual improvement processes - Work within an active manufacturing environment For candidates with forklift experience, additional duties may include: - Safely transport finished goods between production areas - Use of fork-mounted RF systems and radio communications - Operate within cold store / freezer - Perform pre-start checks on forklift equipment - Refuelling gas-powered forklifts and charging spent batteries (electric forklifts) About You - Commitment to safety in the workplace - Ability to work a variety of 8-hour shifts across a 7-day roster - Current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience (mandatory for roles including fork duties) - Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures - Experience in manufacturing, process or mechanical roles is advantageous - High attention to detail - Strong written and verbal communication, time management and ability to work to production schedules - Ability to work effectively in a team - Willingness to undertake in-house aptitude testing as part of the recruitment process - Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (including urine-based drug & alcohol screening) Application process: Please click the "Apply" button to submit your application, including a covering letter outlining your suitability and an up-to-date resume.
