About the Team & the Position

As part of the Digital division, Energy Markets & Corporate Digital Systems (EMCDS), holds the accountability of successful management for some of AEMO’s critical IT applications as well as providing key enabling services and functions to the wider Digital division. EMCDS is accountable for the management of market systems across the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM), retail systems across NEM, WEM and GAS as well as all corporate systems across AEMO and its Subsidiaries.

This is a key leadership role responsible for instilling a shared product vision in the team to deliver the product roadmap and the associated value effectively. You will serve as an end-to-end IT custodian for all applications belonging to the product domain. You will provide strategic input into the future direction of the product domain. You will enable and inspire a multi-disciplinary product team to accomplish its mission, guiding the team on 'what' work to prioritise and complete.

Position Responsibilities

- Product Domain Owner will ensure that the team's deliverables align strategically with the overall AEMO corporate goals, coordinating with other Product Domain Owners to manage interdependencies. Will be accountable people manager for all individuals in the Product Domain Team.

- Take ownership for the key business as Usual (BAU) functions continue to run smoothly whilst delivering customer-focused incremental improvements and enhancements. This includes product support and management including up-to-date product roadmaps and key reporting across performance, capacity and SLAs.

- This position requires exceptional stakeholder management skills and liaise with other teams to ensure the team has necessary support.

- Resolve resource allocation bottlenecks to ensure a smooth workflow. Assist Tech Leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in work item sizing and estimation.

- Manage the pipeline of work (including re-sequencing and re-prioritising) coming into the team

- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure the backlog is effectively organized, prioritised, and bundled appropriately.

- People management duties include resource planning, hiring, uplifting capability, and overseeing Personal Development Plans for permanent staff (PDPs).

- Be responsible for the coordination of the Release & Deployment Management of products and applications managed by the Enterprise Integration team. Manage the incident and problem queues to resolution, ensuring robust and reliable IT systems

Position Requirements

Skills & Experience

- Demonstrated experience in successfully leading and managing a diverse, geographically dispersed teams. Adept in managing Agile teams.

- Proven experience in supporting 24x7 Technology Systems.

- Strong experience in incident, problem, capacity and change management (ITIL desirable) and ability to maintain technical documentation.

- Experienced using CI/CD pipelines for deployment. Self-driven, inquisitive mindset with tenacity to solve problems and deliver outcomes.

- In collaboration with other teams, you will be responsible for determining the best approach to our architecture and be competent in developing and implementing processes and procedures for improved operations, workflow, practices, documentation, and security.

- Strive to understand and help improve our application delivery process. Ability to lead/mentor and cross-skill with team members.

Education/ professional Certifications

- Tertiary qualifications in computer science, business administration, project management and/or technology related fields or equivalent industry experience.

- Certifications in Program/Project Management or any other relevant disciplines
