About the Role

UGL Bassendean is excited to offer permanent full-time positions at our heavy maintenance facility in Bassendean, Perth. Be part of an innovative team dedicated to the overhaul and maintenance of Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) and Locomotive components, including wheel motors, alternators, traction motors, and more.

This role offers a Rotating Roster with opportunities for overtime.

- Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pm
- Afternoon Shift: Monday to Thursday, 1:30 pm - 10:30 pm; Friday 1:30 pm - 7:30 pm

This role is not suitable for Working Holiday Visas (417/462) due to the position being full-time.

Your Responsibilities as an Electrical Fitter

- Disassemble, inspect, requalify, and reassemble HME and Locomotive components.
- Measure and inspect critical journals and bores.
- Conduct brazing and insulation of cable and winding joints.
- Perform requalification inspections of bearings and pinions.
- Conduct acceptance no‑load testing on components, including vibration analysis.
- Engage in Lean practices for a safe and efficient workplace.
- Participate in UGL's OneHSE culture, prioritizing safety for all team members.

About You

- A relevant Electrical Fitter or Electrical Machine Repair trade qualification.
- Experience with AC & DC traction motors, alternators, or rotating electrical equipment.
- Experience with GE or EMD motors and related equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and measurement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An eagerness to learn and grow within the role.
