Role Overview

The Coordinator ICT Projects and Planning is responsible for establishing and leading a program of work within Council’s ICT unit, ensuring alignment with Council’s objectives and delivering strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of IT projects, ensuring completion on time, within scope and budget.

- Run procurement activities to secure technical partners that deliver best value for Council.

- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and vendors to define project requirements, objectives and deliverables.

- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk and issue logs, and direct project resources to achieve successful program delivery.

- Provide expert advice on service delivery levels, product utility and performance.

- Identify emerging issues/risks and propose solutions.

- Coach and mentor project managers and other staff, continuously improving capability within the team and Council.

- Deliver reports, analysis and recommendations on program performance and future direction.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

- Certification in Project Management or a related field.

- Minimum of five years’ experience leading complex programmes and projects in medium to large organisations, with procurement experience.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to present confidently to executive‑level stakeholders.

- Robust business acumen, analytical and problem‑solving skills; experience in ITIL Change and organisational change management.

- Knowledge of project management software (e.g., Basecamp, SharePoint, MS Project).

- Leadership and organisational skills, including staff and vendor performance evaluation.

- Experience training and mentoring staff in project management.

- Familiarity with Managing Successful Projects (MSP) methodology.

- Queensland “C” Class driving licence that is current and maintained.

- Ability to develop and implement project management frameworks, templates, processes and governance.
