NEP Australia is currently seeking a Lab Broadcast Engineer to join the NEP Platform team, providing hands-on technical expertise in our TFC (Total Facility Control) Development Lab environment.

This role is based at our state-of-the-art Andrew’s HUB in Southbank, Melbourne. It primarily involves business hours, with hybrid options, and may require occasional travel and weekend work.

The Position

We need a Broadcast Engineer to join the NEP Platform development team, focusing on building and maintaining a highly available on-premise IP-based "lab" broadcast facility. This lab is crucial for developing and testing NEP Platform solutions and third-party products.

The ideal candidate will have proven IP-based Broadcast Engineering experience, with a hands-on approach to configuring physical and software-based broadcast lab equipment. Knowledge of and experience with ST 2110 infrastructure, including performance and reliability monitoring solutions, is essential.

The successful candidate will also support NEP ANZJ's operational objectives and plans.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and maintain a scalable 2110 broadcast lab facility
- Install, configure, and maintain third-party video/audio solutions within the lab
- Integrate and maintain COTS hardware solutions
- Develop and maintain lab environment configurations and recall states
- Assist development teams with test workflows, applying automation as needed
- Provide documentation for users and commissioning teams
- Consult with stakeholders to support operational goals

Required Skills and Attributes

- Experience with broadcast media network standards (NMOS, ST2022, ST2110)
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining broadcast equipment
- Proficiency with Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies
- Familiarity with scripting, automation, and troubleshooting tools
