About the role:

The Healthy Weight Service based at Perth Children’sHospital is seeking a Senior ExercisePhysiologist to join our dedicated multidisciplinary teamand contribute to the delivery of high-quality, evidence-basedcare. This is a unique opportunity to work within an established,innovative service that transforms health trajectories for childrenwith severe, complicated obesity and related conditions. You willalso be part of the broader PCH Allied Health Physiotherapydepartment.

As the Senior Exercise Physiologist, you will work as part ofthe multi-disciplinary team to plan, implement, coordinate andevaluate physical activity participation for children andadolescents with obesity and related conditions.

Working as part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will empowerfamilies to overcome barriers to positive lifestyle changes, fosterresilience and support the creation of a supportive homeenvironment to enable sustainable, lifelong health improvements.This includes addressing the impact of the child’s conditionon their developmental milestones, functional independence, andparticipation in physical activity as they navigate theirunderstanding and acceptance of their bodies.

Key responsibilities include:

- Applying advanced clinical practice skills to plan,implement and evaluate Exercise Physiology (EP) services forchildren and adolescents in the Healthy Weight Service.
- Provide specialist assessment, intervention and evaluationfor both complex and general caseloads within amultidisciplinary team.
- Supervise and support the development of junior ExercisePhysiologists and students.
- Coordinate with families and community-based providers toensure continuity and consistency of care.
- Contribute to clinical research and servicedevelopment.
- Design and deliver educational resources for healthprofessionals, students, children, and families.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a tertiaryqualification in Exercise Science and be an Accredited ExercisePhysiologist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).

- Tertiary qualification in Exercise Science andaccreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist withExercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
- Demonstrated extensive clinical Exercise Physiologyexperience and advanced Exercise Physiology clinical practiceskills in assessment and intervention of children and/oradolescents.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Exercise Physiology theories,models and evidence based interventions relevant to childrenand adolescents
- Proven ability to plan, develop, coordinate, implement andreview Exercise Physiology services.
- Well-developed communication skills (verbal and written),effective interpersonal and teamwork skills and ability to workwithin a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven time management, organisational and administrativeskills.
- Experience/understanding of paediatric chronicconditions
- Experience in research, auditing and evaluation of exercisephysiology interventions.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professionaldevelopment.
