About the business and the role
We currently have a great career opportunity for an Office Manager in Townsville. The office has a range of technical disciplines which deliver projects across all SLR's market sectors including Mining & Minerals, Built Environment, Infrastructure, Oil and Gas, Industry and Power, with a focus on working collaboratively across the technical disciplines and regions.
This key leadership role has a strong focus on Health, Safety and Wellbeing of staff. There is also a Business Development component, requiring collaboration with both the technical disciplines and sector leaders in considering the wider APAC region for future growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Job tasks and responsibilities
Reporting to a member on the RMT you will be responsible for leading and supporting activities in successful project delivery, business development, cross team collaboration and motivating and supporting staff to perform at their best, including:
1. Handling enquiries on major projects within the local geographical area
2. Developing, facilitating, and enhancing relationships between our internal and external clients and SLR team members
3. Building rapport quickly with other technical discipline leads and managers and their teams
4. Supporting staff with their overall health, safety, physical and mental wellbeing by being actively engaged in this area and approachable to handle staff queries and concerns
5. Leading by example on company purpose, core values and vision
6. Contributing and facilitating regular technical discipline and company planning meetings
7. Actively engaging with the office around social and community events to drive a healthy working environment that people love to be a part of
Skills and experience
Our ideal candidate will have confidence and experience in professional services and have:
1. Appropriate Engineering, Planning, Science tertiary qualifications or relevant experience
2. Proven leadership and capability in managing a large office with multi-discipline staff
3. Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated and lead by example
4. A strong track record in building, nurturing, and maintaining ongoing client relationships.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6. Approachable and engaging character who enjoys seeing team success
