About the Role

At Tomago Aluminium, our people are transforming the business for a sustainable future. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter / Machinist to join our Central Workshop team. In this hands‑on role, you’ll perform maintenance, rebuilds, and precision machining to ensure the reliability and efficiency of critical equipment. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and rebuild mechanical equipment to maximise performance and reliability

- Machine and mill precision parts to specification

- Overhaul and rebuild rotable components to schedule and spec

- Respond to breakdowns and failures to support production continuity

- Implement and verify equipment modifications and improvements

- Create or update rebuild documentation

- Collaborate with other teams to meet or exceed customer expectations

- Identify cost‑saving opportunities in all tasks

- Uphold all safety procedures and standards.

Essential Criteria:

- Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate

- Experience in heavy industrial and rebuild workshop environments

- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and quality

- Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making skills

- Flexibility to support shift coverage when needed

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
