An award winning strategic and creative experiential agency based in Sydney are looking for a General Manager to lead and direct agency operations. This agency loves to connect brands and audiences through the creation of powerful live and digital experiences that inspire emotion and influence behaviour.
Position Terms
- Permanent Full-Time Role
- Working 5 days a week in the office
- Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 plus super (depending on experience)
The Role
The General Manager will be responsible for leading and directing agency operations, including workflow and procedures, resources and training to ensure successful project delivery, project profitability and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities include:
- To lead project delivery including to secure and allocate resources, manage competing priorities, meet multiple timeframes and set the standard for services quality control.
- To manage and grow profitability through the successful design and delivery of projects.
- To maintain the highest standards for quality assurance and operational excellence.
- To support the Client Services Director to deliver concepts for new client projects, pitch presentations and proposals to potential and existing clients.
- To support the Managing Director in delivering business systems and administration including project finance, IT, compliance and premises management.
- To personally lead 2-3 key client relationships including site inspections, venue/supplier sourcing, pre and post-production, budget and cashflow management, onsite event and crew management.
- To manage commercial opportunities with existing clients to maximise revenue growth.
- To undertake regular budgeting, reporting and resource planning to assign appropriate team members to projects and resolve any issues.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have extensive experience working in a senior leadership role within an Australian Events Agency, with strong people management, client management, and financial acumen skills. Proven leadership and team management skills are essential for this role.
- Significant client account management and senior executive experience.
- Proven track record in growing agency accounts, winning new business and sales pitches.
- Strong marketing thinking and understanding of communications disciplines.
- Exemplary client services skills with the ability to maintain and extend client relationships.
- Excellent time management and numeracy skills and attention to detail.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and experience in interacting with junior and senior staff.
- Fluent, clear and articulate verbal communication.
- Excellent presentation and proposal pitching skills.
- Assertive and able to take charge of a situation, when appropriate.
- The ability to lead, motivate and influence others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work from the office 5 days a week.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for events.
