Whyalla, Australia Government of South Australia Full time

Why work with us:

The Office for Early Childhood Development has been formed with a clear mandate: to create a fairer and better future for all children in South Australia by implementing the accepted recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care.

As the steward of the early childhood development system, the Office will act on government's behalf, and work in collaboration with the sector, to organise and connect the system to reduced developmental vulnerability.

This includes providing universal access to quality, teacher-led preschool from the age of 3, growing and sustaining a quality early childhood workforce, and greater supports and connected services for families in the 1000 days of a child’s life.

About this role:

We have two opportunities to join the Change and Local Partnerships team as an Implementation Partner in a full-time capacity, for a fixed term 2 year contract. Both roles will be based in the Adelaide CBD and or at one of our metropolitan sites.

As an Implementation Partner, you will collaborate with local teams to guide early childhood reforms across the state. You will directly support early childhood services, empowering them to improve enrolment, attendance, and learning outcomes for children, while addressing barriers to engagement and participation for families.

As an Implementation Partner, you are tasked with:

- Leading and supporting early childhood services in developing and implementing evidence-based plans to improve child outcomes.
- Collaborating with local communities, stakeholders, and services to remove barriers and foster inclusive, strength-based approaches.
- Using data, including AEDC, to guide local planning and ensure services meet developmental needs.
- Supporting the delivery of universal 3-year-old preschool across the state and other early childhood system reforms.
- Providing expert advice to colleagues and stakeholders, ensuring policy development translates into effective local solutions.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who brings:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage effectively with diverse audiences on complex and sensitive issues.
- Proven project management expertise, with the ability to coordinate and implement complex plans. A project management qualification would be desirable.
- Analytical thinking skills, using data and intelligence to inform decisions and identify local challenges and opportunities.
- Stakeholder engagement experience, building collaborative partnerships and deploying effective engagement strategies to enhance sector ability, knowledge and resources.
- Ability to work autonomously, using your judgement and creativity to solve problems and manage competing priorities.
- Agility: to proactively address complex issues in an environment of change, provide practical and timely solutions and negotiate outcomes effectively.
- Knowledge: understanding of the early childhood education sector and early years pedagogy and data sources.

Special Conditions:

- Current driver’s license and willingness to travel within and outside South Australia.
- Current Working with Children Check and completion of required training.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal hours if needed.

Role Benefits:

- Opportunities for professional development & career growth within the SA public sector.
- Be part of an agency with a clear mission to improve the lives of South Australia’s children and families.
- Access to valuable salary sacrifice benefits like car leases, portable electronic devices, mobile phones, air line lounge memberships, self-education expenses, and more.
- Access to flexible working arrangements to get that work-life balance.

Application Instructions and Information:

Applications should be made through the IWorkForSA website.

Applicants must submit a CV, Pre-employment Declaration, and a cover letter outlining their suitability against the attached position description.

Remuneration:

ASO6 - $98,478 - $104,165 (1.0 FTE) per annum, plus superannuation of 12%.

Additional Note:

This is a 2-year term contract role (1.0 FTE) with potential to be made ongoing.

Enquiries can be directed to OECD.PandC@sa.gov.au.
