About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Casual Relief Cook to provide high-quality meal services to residents across multiple Ingenia Gardens communities in Victoria. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing home-style meals in a community setting and is flexible and willing to travel.

As a Relief Cook, you will step in to cover planned and unplanned leave for our regular cooks. You’ll prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain kitchen hygiene standards, and ensure residents enjoy a positive dining experience. Expense reimbursement and accommodation may be provided for longer assignments.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation and Service

- Prepare, cook, and serve meals in line with community menus and dietary requirements
- Ensure all meals are well-presented, nutritious, and delivered on time
- Reduce waste and manage stock efficiently
- Monitor and record food temperatures and follow food safety procedures

Cleaning and Sanitation

- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area
- Sanitize all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils
- Safely handle and store cleaning products using correct PPE

Compliance and Safety

- Follow HACCP guidelines and comply with food safety legislation
- Wear PPE and follow WHS procedures at all times
- Report any incidents, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly

Communication and Teamwork

- Interact respectfully and empathetically with residents
- Collaborate with community staff to ensure smooth meal service
- Maintain professional boundaries and protect resident confidentiality

Qualifications & Requirements

- Food Safety Supervisor Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
- National Police Check (current and valid)
- C-Class Driver’s Licence and own vehicle
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of HACCP and safe food handling practices
