**Role**:
The role requires consultation with the leadership team and teachers and students to design learning programs that support lifelong skills in cooking and food production along with linking real life literacy and numeracy skills through the SAKG, café program. Co-constructing a program with students and staff is paramount to ensuring the program is successful and meets the learning and wellbeing needs of students.

The college café is a community front facing program that promotes the college. Building students capacity to work in a team, develop customer service skills and developing technical skills in a café environment is a requirement of the role.

**Responsibilities**:

- Liaise with teaching staff to incorporate literacy and numeracy in the kitchen
- Facilitate the integration of literacy and numeracy elements into the program
- Liaise with gardeners to plan and harvest produce available in the school garden
- Make the kitchen a safe and friendly environment
- Plan the weekly menu, incorporating seasonal garden produce. Pre-prepare elements of the menu if necessary.
- Prepare recipes in a format suitable for children to understand
- Shop for ingredients and equipment within budget limits
- Coordinate cookery classes and our Community Café for students, in consultation with school leaders
- Maintain kitchen area and equipment to required hygienic standards
- Perform stocktake / equipment inventory check annually
- Administrative tasks, including but not limited to: annual kitchen inspection, Workplace Health and Safety Inspections, budget preparation in consultation with Business Manager, obtain quotes/purchase orders/invoices in line with current school practices
- Promote café and engage with community members and guests
- Provide catering services to planned events, as requested by school leadership team
- Assist Learning Pods with shopping for classroom cooking / celebration activities
- Other school duties as determined by the Principal and Business Manager
