Puma Energy is a global integrated midstream and downstream oil company active in close to 45 countries. Puma Energy’s core activities in the midstream sector include the supply, storage and transportation of petroleum products. Its downstream activities include distribution, retail sales and wholesale of a wide range of refined products, with additional product offerings in lubricants, bitumen, LPG and marine bunkering. Puma Energy has a global network of over 2,000 retail service stations and supports independent entrepreneurs with a viable alternative to traditional market supply sources.
Responsibilities
- Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons (M+1 to M+3).
- Manage trades’ performance against forecast to ensure DFA is achieved; manage 3rd party DFA.
- Review historical sales trends and reconcile significant variance to advise Sales on forecast inputs.
- Interact with Sales and Network to understand demand forecast drivers and improve forward view.
- Provide inputs to the Supply planning team in developing replenishment plans.
- Facilitate and run demand management meetings for Puma and 3rd party supply.
- Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand performance.
- Maintain a continuous improvement focus on demand performance with different stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Management: establish cost structure with a cost build-up approach and share best practices.
- Ensure correct upload processes into systems and reports.
- Identify cost savings by leading initiatives with Trading, Operations and Taxation teams in the countries.
- Analyze historical cost data to provide more accurate cost estimates; continuously monitor inventory costs of various fuel products to estimate daily transaction results.
- Product Purchase: purchase product at the lowest possible cost; interact with Deals Desk and participate in regular supply optimization meetings with Supply and marketers.
- Lead supply data flow between marketers and Supply; consolidate demand and stock progression forecasts; weekly country reporting to central Market Supply team.
- Incorporate all in-country Other Oil Companies (OOC) primary supply requirements.
- Coordination of Product Scheduling: liaise with fuel suppliers to deliver quality products timely; manage interface with the Trader.
- Develop and maintain an efficient road/rail transport plan to ensure supply reliability at existing supply points.
- Supervision: supervise Supply activities, ensure processes align with control standards and company policies; foster a positive environment and develop team capabilities.
Requirements
- Work Experience: Exposure to commodities, oil and gas industry.
- Education: Technical Degree in Economics (Required).
- Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products; effective negotiation skills; networking skills; strong understanding of trading platforms (advantageous).
