About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our Brisbane office. Reporting to the Head of Finance, Australia, and collaborating closely with the Micromine HQ Finance team and local auditors, you will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day financial operations of our business. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing finance team within a global mining technology leader, where accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement are valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare monthly management accounts, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow Statements, providing commentary on variances to budget and forecast.

- Conduct variance analysis on actuals versus budgets and forecasts across revenue, cost of sales, and operating expenses.

- Collaborate with Sales and Licensing teams to ensure accurate and timely accounting treatment of software sales, services, and deferred revenue.

- Perform monthly and daily bank reconciliations and assist with payroll processing.

- Support the preparation of budgets, quarterly forecasts, and balance sheet reconciliations.

- Oversee debtor collections, including liaison with external debt collection agencies where required.

- Prepare and submit tax and statutory returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant authorities.

- Assist in developing and maintaining effective internal control processes and implementing accounting policies in line with head office directives.

- Provide administrative support, including onboarding coordination, office supply management, and general operational assistance.

- Contribute to financial process improvement and system integration initiatives.

About You

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or business administration.

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business Administration (CPA/CA desirable).

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as NetSuite (or similar).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and efficiency.

- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
