Tamworth, Australia Questas Group Full time

About the Opportunity

As Questas continues to grow, we’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and detail-driven Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team in our brand-new, state-of-the-art Norwest office.

In this pivotal role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time — supporting a national team across multiple entities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Processing weekly and monthly payrolls with precision and efficiency across multiple entities.

- Completing month-end close activities and generating accurate payroll reports.

- Responding to employee and manager payroll enquiries with professionalism and care.

- Maintaining and updating employee payroll master files.

- Preparing and reconciling third-party payments.

- Calculating payments such as terminations, back pay and one-off adjustments.

- Providing insightful reports to management and external accountants as required.

Why Questas

At Questas, you’ll be part of a collaborative and people-focused organisation that values excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

- A diverse and rewarding role with a national scope.

- Supportive and friendly team culture.

- Modern facilities and a vibrant workspace in Norwest.

- Free onsite parking for your convenience.

- Access to our exclusive Benefits Program, including Fitness Passport.

- An inclusive culture that encourages growth — with access to our Women’s Lead Network and other development opportunities.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about payroll and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

- At least 3 years’ payroll experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment.

- Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy.

- Experience with large payroll systems — Micropay or Kronos will be highly regarded.

- Strong time management skills — able to prioritise and meet deadlines independently.

- Intermediate MS Office skills.

- A sound understanding of the Fair Work Act, NES, and Modern Awards (knowledge of the Manufacturing Award will be an advantage).

- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to supporting team members and stakeholders.
