Advanced Clinical Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Haemato-Oncology team at Cambridge University Hospitals. You will be working as part of the multidisciplinary team. You will be practising autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner (ACP) within the service to provide patient centred quality care. You will support a patient focused service allowing for timely care for patients within the inpatient and outpatient Haematology service. Along with clinical work across the department the individual will have rostered time to undertake education, teaching and research.

Main duties of the job

You will be practicing as an advanced practitioner within Haematology. The role will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice. You will assist in the safe assessment, treatment, referral, and discharge of patients in their designated unit. They will be expected to work under the four pillars of advanced practice and be able provide evidence of ongoing CPD in these pillars at appraisal.

You will be expected to manage patients but will be supported to be able to work in an advanced clinical capacity.

Person Specification

Qualifications

- Relevant registered professional qualification
- MSc Advanced Practice with a significant portfolio of clinical practice
- Completed full training program as a trainee ACP in speciality field
- Extensive post registration experience and demonstrable experience in relevant speciality area
- Advanced Non-medical prescribing (as required within scope of practice)
- Advanced life support (as required depending on clinical area)
- Recognised teaching qualification
- ALS Instructor
- Recognised leadership qualification

Knowledge/Experience

- Team leadership experience, including effective staff management including HR issues, sickness, grievance and disciplinary management / investigation.
- Evidence of advanced clinical skills
- Awareness of relevant national and local key performance indicators
- Awareness of relevant local and national strategies
- Awareness of implications of advanced practice
- Evidence of presentations at local / national levels
- Commitment to the on-going implementation of the Trust Advanced Practice strategy.

Skills

- Ability to make decisions, organise and prioritise own workload.
- Leadership skills and proactivity in guiding own learning
- Ability to form professional interpersonal relationships and to forge trust with colleagues and other stakeholders
