The Opportunity
In this role, you’ll play a vital part in shaping the next generation of nutrition and dietetics professionals by supervising, training, assessing, and supporting students on professional placements. You’ll also manage clients attending our Nutrition and Dietetic clinics, collaborate with placement partners, professional bodies, and the community, and work closely with discipline staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences. Alongside contributing to teaching and clinical education, you’ll be actively involved in quality improvement initiatives and broader School and University activities. Based at UniSC’s Sippy Downs campus, this role offers the opportunity to combine clinical practice, education, and community engagement in a rewarding and impactful way.

About you

You will possess
- Completion or near-completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing or a minimum of ten years clinical experience as an accredited practitioner in the field of study
- Evidence of Accredited Practising Dietitian status as recognised by Dietitians Australia
- Effectiveness as a teacher, demonstrated by: student feedback on clinical teaching and supervision, placements (including simulated, telehealth, external and internal placements) using valid instruments; capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to teaching
- Leadership of quality clinical education of undergraduate students in diverse placement formats
- Experience with managing the nutrition care process of individual clients/patients
- Membership of and connections with relevant professional bodies and communities, and evidence of leading development of new partnerships
- Strong personal qualities and collegial approach contributing to a positive academic environment and evidence of leading staff
- Participation in academic development activities and a commitment to ongoing learning as an effective academic
Desirable
- Experience undertaking academic administrative functions, e.g. course coordination
- Accredited Sports Dietitian status as recognised by Sports Dietitians Australia
