About the role

As the Transport Network Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in the design and operation of Victoria’s traffic signals and management systems, including SCATS (arterial roads) and STREAMS (motorways). This role ensures the safe and optimised performance of the road network in line with Departmental frameworks, Austroads Guidelines, and other compliance requirements.

- Provide clear technical advice and reports tailored to internal and external stakeholders.

- Engage with stakeholders to resolve issues while ensuring outcomes align with the Department’s frameworks and objectives.

- Apply risk and safety engineering principles to support safe and efficient network operations, escalating complex issues when required.

- Contribute to the integration of emerging technologies, supporting innovation in traffic management practices.

- Work collaboratively with colleagues, share knowledge, and foster a positive and safe workplace culture.
