About us
The Psychological Trauma Service is a multidisciplinary team supporting individuals with complex trauma and personality difficulties. It takes a holistic and flexible approach, working with individuals and their support networks to understand distress and guide recovery. Combining clinical and lived experience, the service provides education, consultation, and tailored therapies, including psychological, body-sensory, art-based, and psychopharmacological options.
The service focuses on trauma stabilization, memory processing, and integration, emphasizing social connection and family involvement. It also offers expertise in working with older adults and improving trauma care, ensuring all support is informed by the individual’s culture, values, and priorities.
About the role
The Senior Clinical Psychologist DBT will provide clinical services including assessment and treatment to consumers of the DBT program.
The PTS DBT program offers clients weekly individual DBT sessions and a weekly skills training group over a minimum of six months and up to a year. All members of the DBT team are part of the DBT Team Consultation group led by the DBT coordinator. In additional to being supported by the DBT coordinator, the position will function under the supervision and direction of the PTS Clinical Team Lead.
About you
- Master or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
- Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009
- Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009 Australian Psychology Board Approved Supervisor status
- At least five years' experience working as a registered clinical psychologist
- Membership of the APS and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists is desirable
- Be willing to undergo a Background Check
