About this Position
Be a part of our dynamic and community focused library service. We are dedicated to providing excellent service to our patrons and fostering a welcoming and engaging environment.
We are seeking a permanent full time, Library Assistant to join our Richmond Tweed Regional Library (RTRL) team. You will be working 35 hours a week, primarily based at our Byron Area Libraries (Byron Bay, Mullumbimby and Brunswick Heads); however, this role may require you to work at different locations throughout your employment.
As a Library Assistant with Richmond Tweed Regional Library (RTRL), you will play a vital role in delivering high quality service to library patrons. You will be part of a multi-skilled team, providing support across the organisation as needed. Your main responsibilities will include assisting in maintaining and providing access to library collections, facilitating children’s programs, communicating effectively with patrons and using automated information systems and databases.

Conditions of Employment
Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.
Pre-employment Screening

Working with Children Check
In accordance with the requirement for ‘Working with Children' anyone starting a new, paid job in child-related work must apply for the Working with Children Check (WWCC). This is a requirement for this position and it is the responsibility of the successful applicant to have undertaken the WWCC and the ‘Clearance to Work with Children’ provided to Council prior to commencement.
