Who Are We Looking For?
With our fleet expanding, we are seeking additional Field Service Technicians in the Bowen and Galilee Basin.
Your Responsibilities:
· Provide technical support for on-site MPUs and explosive delivery equipment
· Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs in the field
· Assist with calibration, system checks, and operational readiness of mobile units
· Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in remote environments
· Complete and submit service reports, maintenance records, and compliance documentation
· Support the commissioning and decommissioning of field equipment as needed
· Collaborate with blasting teams and site supervisors to ensure equipment availability
· Promote and adhere to Platinum’s Zero Harm safety culture and compliance standards
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
· Trade qualification in mechanical, automotive, or diesel fitting
· Experience in mobile equipment servicing or field-based technical support
· Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability in hydraulic and mechanical systems
· Current manual driver’s licence (HR licence desirable or willingness to obtain)
· Familiarity with explosive delivery systems (MPUs) is advantageous
· Sound understanding of safety and environmental protocols in mining or industrial sites
· Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in small teams
· A current Queensland Explosives Security Clearance or the ability to obtain
· A can-do attitude and excellent communication skills
· Physical fitness and readiness for demanding work
· Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
· Proficiency in using maintenance management systems, tech-tools and other relevant computer software
