About the Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of our Melbourne studio. With a clear framework for career growth, you will have the opportunity for professional development in a supportive culture. You will take ownership of key components within projects while supporting the Project Leader. You will bring a positive and professional attitude to your interactions with clients and colleagues alike.
A strong eye for design, showcased through a polished and well-curated portfolio, is essential. Additionally, proficiency in independently documenting projects using Revit is a critical requirement for success in this role.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Collaborate with Senior Interior Designers and Architects in the design and delivery of the project.
- Assist to develop and communicate the design narrative and concept for the project.
- Prepare spatial planning, test fit plans and schematic schemes.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants and suppliers as required.
- Prepare reports and documentation packages (including drawings, schedules and specifications) across each phase of the project.
- Monitor and mitigate project risks and elevate where necessary.
- Assist the Project Leader in maintaining quality delivery outcomes.
- Maintain an awareness of all matters relevant to the design and production of the deliverables for the project.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will bring valuable experience working within a collaborative, creative, and resourceful team environment, contributing to the delivery of innovative and high-quality projects. Your expertise will reflect a strong foundation in the design and construction of interior design projects, showcasing your ability to seamlessly integrate creativity with functionality.
You will demonstrate a deep understanding of design principles, construction processes, and the ability to adapt to project requirements while maintaining a focus on delivering exceptional results. Your collaborative spirit, coupled with your technical skills and creative insight, will make you an integral part of the team. You will demonstrate initiative and will be proactive in your approach.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 4–6 years of relevant industry experience
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
- Strong proficiency in Revit and Rhino; experience with Enscape is a plus
- Ability to clearly communicate a design narrative
- Experience in documentation phases: SD (Schematic Design), DD (Design Development), or CD (Construction Documentation)
- Residential project experience is essential
- Experience across broader typologies beyond residential is highly valued
