Overview

Building Technology Graphics Engineer Software Engineer

Reporting to the Technology Operations Manager and based in Darra preferably (or remote/Sydney), the Graphics Engineer will play a key role in designing and developing intuitive BMS graphics, interactive dashboards, and visual prototypes that support engineering, commissioning, and operational insights across a range of projects.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

- Design and develop clear User Interfaces for new and existing projects
- Gather Information required for a project
- Create Mock-ups for the project related to information gathered
- Alter Mock-ups from received internal and external feedback
- Create prototypes and visual designs for new ideas when required
- Create Graphics and User Interface pages according to Mock-Ups and specifications
- Create dashboards to visualise data from multiple engineering disciplines
- Alter Graphics according to received feedback

BMS Building Technology Operations Project Management Technicians

Based in Artarmon, Sydney, and reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager (BMS) is responsible for overseeing BMS projects from Sales Handover through to the end of the Defects Liability Period. Managing projects valued between $100k and $5M, the role spans internal VAE mechanical works, commercial buildings, government projects, refurbishments, and wet concrete installations. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders—including Construction Managers, Contractors, Builders, Consultants, and internal VAE teams—to ensure seamless project delivery and execution.

Your day-to-day responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

- Lead end-to-end project delivery across all phases—from scope and design to commissioning and close-out
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective project execution
- Plan and track project progress, providing regular updates and status reports
- Oversee procurement activities, including supplier and subcontractor negotiations
- Prepare key documentation such as RFIs, submittals, and construction correspondence
- Ensure commissioning, testing, and final tuning are completed, documented, and aligned with project milestones
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, PM methodologies, and contract requirements
- Manage risks and implement mitigation strategies to address technical and commercial challenges

Building Technology IBP Technician Software Engineer Technicians

Reporting to the Customer Account Manager and based in Sydney, the IBP Technician will be responsible for delivering high-level technical services to support integrated building systems across various platforms and protocols. This role plays a key part in MSI delivery by ensuring seamless interoperability between HVAC, lighting, energy, and security systems, with a strong focus on data acquisition and centralised building management using modern API-driven technologies and open protocol.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

- Manage IBP servers and virtual machines, ensuring performance, security, and backups
- Troubleshoot and optimise system integrations across open protocols, middleware, and APIs
- Maintain Tridium Niagara systems and support Windows Server and Ubuntu environments
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to maximise uptime
- Implement control sequence and configuration updates to meet site/client needs
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams, resolving issues promptly
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practice

Reporting to the Group Sales Manager – Service and based in Artarmon, Sydney the Business Development Manager – Service Maintenance will be responsible for managing and generating new business opportunities and maximizing sales in the Service Division.

Some of the key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Identify and pursue new business opportunities focused on service maintenance contracts.
- Support Customer Account Managers and Service Managers to maximise opportunities within the existing client base.
- Assist with competitive contract renewals to retain key clients and secure long-term agreements
- Target market segments where VAE can successfully compete and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong networks with clients, consultants, builders, facility managers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare high-quality, value-driven bid submissions that address client needs and highlight VAE’s differentiators.
- Use estimating tools to accurately develop maintenance quotes and drive competitive subcontractor pricing.
- Manage sales administration including tender responses, quotation registers, and handover documentation.
- Actively contribute to a collaborative sales team culture and ensure timely responses to market enquiries

Reporting to the Customer Account Manager and based in Bundaberg, the Mechanical Service Technician will be responsible for performing hands on complex installation and maintenance to all HVAC systems and working on various ongoing and upcoming jobs in the CQ region.

The successful candidate may be based in Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, or Maryborough, but must be willing to travel between these locations.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

- Conduct detailed inspections of buildings/sites
- Diagnose and rectify electrical or control faults in HVAC systems and components
- Plan general electrical maintenance and repair work as required
- Install refrigerant pipe work, flow controls and accessories
- Provide quotations for service job or installation works
- Provide technical support as required
- Develop strong relationships with customers

Reporting to the General Manager – Australian Branches and based in Winnellie, Darwin, the Branch Manager will plan, develop and direct VAE Group service and projects activities within the NT region aligned with budgeted profitability objectives, whilst delivering built in certainty to our client’s assets by providing quality service in conjunction with contractual obligations. Some of the key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Lead and oversee all branch operations, ensuring performance and accountability
- Build strong client relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction
- Manage budgets, control costs, and oversee invoicing and financial performance
- Supervise, develop, and support field and office staff
- Plan workloads and ensure KPI targets are met
- Support business growth through tenders, quotes, and contract negotiations
