Role & Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Brisbane Australia. Here are some of the things you’ll be working on:

- Collaborate on conceptual designs and develop detailed analysis and calculations to meet project requirements and specifications.

- Enhance expertise in EMS-Tech Inc. equipment, systems, and structural design methods, including AGMA, AISI, SAE, DIN, ASTM, FEM Section II, AS 4324, and CEMA.

- Size and select mechanical components, including shafting, bearings, gearboxes, reducers, couplings, and hydraulic systems.

- Work with a team to develop transfer point designs, using first principles and Rocky.

- Check and verify drawings, calculations, and supplier equipment for accuracy and compliance with specifications.

- Utilize spreadsheet tools like Excel and mechanical modeling software to support design and analysis efforts, while verifying results with hand calculations.

- Develop proficiency in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (SolidWorks) drafting and produce drawings that adhere to EMS-Tech Inc. standards.

- Field visits to assess and monitor existing equipment, survey machines for upgrades.

- Support clients with training on bulk material handling equipment.

- Provide the head office in Canada with updated status reports, including all relevant details regarding both equipment and customer relations.

- Experiment with creative solutions.

- Become a critical team member in the design and implementation of large balanced machines.

- Adhere to confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

- Bachelor Engineering degree or Applied Science

- Professional Engineer designation or working towards designation

- 4‑10 years of industry-specific experience.

- Proficiency in structural systems analysis, mechanical component design, and CAD drafting including 3‑D, DEM, FEA modeling

- Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively with the design team.

- Ability to work independently.
