Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Wash and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes using industrial dishwashing machines or hand-washing when necessary.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of dishwashing machines and report any malfunctions to management.
  • Operate the dish washing machine according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Properly dispose of waste, garbage, and recyclable materials.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen, food preparation areas, and scullery.
  • Ensure all kitchens meet current Health & Hygiene regulations by maintaining a clean and tidy environment.
  • Handle chemicals and equipment safely, following the manufacturers' guidelines.
  • Prepare mise-en-place as required by the kitchen staff.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment by identifying hazards and promoting good Work Health Safety (WHS) practices.
  • Aid kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables or filling water containers, when needed.
  • Participate in a rotational roster to ensure fair work distribution.
