Miners Rest Primary School, located just 10km north-west of Ballarat, has a proud history dating back to the mid-19th century. Situated in a growing community, our school offers a vibrant, progressive learning environment where students are inspired to achieve their best.
With 353 students across sixteen classrooms, our expansive campus includes collaborative learning spaces, a competition-sized gymnasium, an arts centre, and kitchen garden facilities. Our outdoor areas feature three playgrounds, two tennis courts, a basketball court, and both a turf and synthetic grass oval, providing diverse opportunities for learning, play, and wellbeing.
As the educational hub of our community, we support young families from the early years through to adulthood. Our onsite Miners Rest Kindergarten and Out of School Hours Care Program including holiday care ensure smooth transitions and continuity of learning for our youngest learners.
In 2026, our School Improvement Team comprises a Principal, Assistant Principal, and Learning Specialists, supported by 46 dedicated teaching and education support staff. Students benefit from a rich curriculum including Physical Education, Visual Arts, STEM, Performing Arts, and a school-wide focus on Indigenous Culture K 6. Our curriculum aligns with the Victorian Curriculum and is delivered through the Miners Rest Primary School Instructional Model, ensuring engaging and high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
We also foster leadership, wellbeing, and positive relationships. Students participate in our Student Leadership Program, including School Captains, House Captains, and Junior School Council, while developing social and emotional skills in a safe and supportive environment. Our values of Kindness, Respect, and Courage underpin all that we do, alongside the Respectful Relationships Program, which supports student wellbeing and promotes a positive school culture.
Miners Rest Primary School is more than a workplace. It is a community where staff, students, and families grow and thrive together. We welcome passionate educators who are eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
