Job Description
HammondCare pastoral care volunteers support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly residents in aged care homes. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll work actively with a local Christian church in your area.
You will assist and complement the work of our Residential Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their guidance, you may:
- Support residents in meeting their spiritual needs
Skills required for this role
- High interpersonal skills, including empathy and active listening
- Pastoral Care training such as Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or HammondCare’s Spiritual Care Series (training provided)
Spiritual Care Series
Location: North Turramurra, Wahroonga, Greenwich, Nth Sydney, Northern Social Clubs
Date: Starts Wednesday, 7th May; concludes Wednesday, 2nd July (note: break week on 28th June)
Time: 2–4 pm
Location: Nth Turramurra
