Are you looking for a way to give back in the afternoon? Do you enjoy a cuppa and a chat, a board game, an afternoon movie or walk in the garden? We are seeking fun loving and friendly Volunteers to spend an hour or more engaging with residents one-on-one or in small groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1-4pm. You will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for older people living in a residential care home.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Commitment

Regular - more than 6 months

Time required

We are seeking Volunteers between 1pm and 4pm (for 1 -3 hours) Tuesday or Thursday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.

Requirements

- National Police Certificate

18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare plus NDIS Worker Screening Check
