The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Bendigo site. This is a hands‑on leadership role supporting a busy and diverse municipal contract that covers cardboard, general waste, EPA/biosecurity waste, and liquid collections.

You will lead a team of over 20 drivers, along with other support teams to keep operations safe, compliant, efficient and customer‑focused.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Supervise operations and be accountable for the performance of day‑to‑day operational activities.

- Train, mentor, and motivate operations staff to maintain high‑performance standards and promote a culture of safety and teamwork.

- Prepare operational reports, performance metrics, and other documentation as required.

- Conduct daily pre‑starts, safety briefings, and toolbox talks to keep the team informed and focused on safety and compliance.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational optimisation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies and procedures.

About You

- Prior experience in a similar supervisory role within the waste or logistics industries is desirable.

- Heavy rigid (HR) driver’s license is preferred but not essential

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a diverse team in a fast‑paced, complex operations environment.

- Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills, with a hands‑on approach to resolving operational challenges.

- Strong commitment to safety and compliance, with experience conducting safety briefings and managing incident reports.

- Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with team members and handle customer inquiries professionally.
