Senior Medical Officer in General Practice
Job Details
Shift(s) details: from 17/12/2025 08:00 to 23/12/2025 17:00 at $1800 per day.
Responsibilities
- Face‑to‑face clinical handover with ED doctors in the Emergency Department.
- Inpatient ward rounds from 0800‑0930.
- Document daily ward rounds, provide medical care to inpatients, complete discharge summaries and review admitted patients as required.
- Provide medical care to Hospital in the Home patients.
- Provide medical care to admitted post‑operative patients.
- Provide medical care to patients in the Emergency Department when the ED is busy and requested by the Nurse Manager.
- Provide medical care in the Emergency Department during the ED Doctors meal break.
- Provide surgical assistance in theatre when required.
- Complete contemporaneous and comprehensive clinical documentation in eMR.
- Provide clinical review and rapid response services for admitted patients.
- Participate in trauma and cardiac arrest services across the facility.
- Check pathology and radiology results in the medical results message centre ordered by any doctor, follow‑up and document management plans for any results needing further action and review any patients returning for follow‑up of results.
- Training and supervision of students, junior medical officers and registrars.
- Participate in morbidity and mortality meetings, MDT meetings and other clinical meetings as requested.
- Ward doctor on‑call from 1700 – 0800 for EMERGENCIES ONLY.
