Overview
The Spatial Analyst will design, develop, and deliver spatial solutions to support government agencies with emergency services requirements as defined in the Tasmanian Emergency Management Arrangements (TEMA). The role includes developing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools and products, managing critical spatial datasets, and deploying to Emergency Operation Centres (EOCs) to provide real-time geospatial intelligence during incident response. The team’s primary focus is to support the Government’s response to emergencies through spatial capabilities across all phases of emergency management: preparedness, response and recovery. The role enables informed decision-making and effective coordination during major incidents.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver spatial solutions to support emergency management activities across government agencies as outlined in the Tasmanian Emergency Management Arrangements.
- Develop Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools and products and manage critical spatial datasets.
- Deploy to Emergency Operation Centres (EOCs) to provide real-time geospatial intelligence during incident response.
- Contribute to effective coordination and decision-making during major incidents.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Geospatial Science, or equivalent level qualification, relevant to the duties to be undertaken, as provided by a university.
Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Remuneration
Tasmanian State Service Award - General Stream Band 5: $99,482.00 to $104,352.00 pro rata, per annum
