WorkSafe is the statutory body established to administer workers' compensation legislation, and the legislation requires WorkSafe Victoria to appoint such resources, officers and employees as are necessary for the Convenor to constitute and administer the proper function of individually constituted Medical Panels.

Key accountabilities of the position include:
- Reviewing and assessing all referral types with varying degrees of complexity lodged by Agents, Self Insurers, Conciliation Officers, Magistrates' & County Courts and Respondent Legal Representatives, for validity and completeness.

- Managing the Medical Panel database and Extranet including examination details, including acting as the primary contact point to ensure the Medical Panel database status is updated once the Convenor approves the composition of a Medical Panel.
- Ensuring data entry guidelines are met, alert the Registrar to any irregularities and suggest actions for resolution.
- Attending to a broad range of enquiries from stakeholders including claimants and workers, the Workplace Injury Commission, Courts, doctors, WorkSafe agents, self-insurers and worker's legal representatives ensuring that enquiries are resolved or referred to the most appropriate officer for action in a timely manner.
- Acting as an escalation point for Administrative staff for Registry technical queries.
