Urgent: Team Leader Tenancy and Financial Counselling

Your new role

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Tenancy and Financial Support team, overseeing the delivery of financial counselling, financial advisory, and tenancy advisory programs across Melbourne's Metro North East region. You will manage key programs including Consumer Affairs Victoria's Financial Counselling and Tenancy Advocacy Assist programs, as well as the No-Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) in partnership with Good Shepherd Microfinance.

Your responsibilities include ensuring high-quality service delivery, providing direct client support where necessary, and supervising a multidisciplinary team to meet program objectives. You will also be accountable for meeting contract requirements, driving operational performance, and connecting the team to broader professional development supports within Uniting.

Your skills and experience

- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
- Valid driver's licence to drive in Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe environments for children and young people and protect them from abuse and neglect.
- Experience delivery financial counselling, advisory and/or tenancy advocacy programs
- Experience leading, coaching and developing staff.
- Ability to engage and work effectively with consumers experiencing homelessness in a respectful, compassionate and appropriate manner.
