Alcohol and Drug Services North deliver a high quality alcohol and other drug treatment service in accordance with relevant Government Legislation and Regulations, Primary Health Care Principles, reforms, ADS policies, procedures and protocols and relevant professional competencies.

The Team

Alcohol and Drug Services North deliver a high quality alcohol and other drug treatment service in accordance with relevant Government Legislation and Regulations, Primary Health Care Principles, reforms, ADS policies, procedures and protocols and relevant professional competencies. Clinicians provide specialist assessment and treatment services for people with multiple and complex needs, including co-morbid alcohol and other drugs and mental health issues, in accordance with discipline-specific skills and abilities.

The Role

- Provide a specialised, comprehensive, evidence-based clinical assessment, treatment and assertive case-management service to clients who have issues with alcohol and/or other drugs and support referral and liaison with relevant service providers.
- Undertake clinical documentation in line with organisational and professional requirements, including maintaining effective record keeping on clients and producing clear, well-presented treatment reports to the ADS Team Leader (North) as required.
- Actively support, contribute to and participate in ongoing quality assurance programs, including approved research, incident reporting and evaluation, internal audits, and policy and procedure review, as well as the development, implementation and evaluation of specialised alcohol and other drug psychosocial treatment programs.
- Consult with professionals and other agencies on the management of clients, and their families/carers, affected by alcohol and or other drugs to optimise service effectiveness.

You will need

- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary evidence-based practice used in the treatment and prevention of alcohol and other drug dependence, including assessment, the harm minimisation framework, interventions, and prevention activities.
- Knowledge of and ability to undertake comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions with individuals and their families with complex needs, including individual and group programs.
- Knowledge of and ability to develop, monitor and implement quality assurance and improvement activities and/or research.

Details of appointment

Permanent full time, day worker position, 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Salary Packaging

You’ll have access to salary packaging a range of benefits, including living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, plus other eligible benefits.

- Access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

- Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
- Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or
- Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Current Working with Children Registration

- Holds, or is working towards, a relevant tertiary qualification in the Alcohol and Other Drugs field
- Current Driver’s Licence
