CRVCID.708439 This is a Fixed Term Part Time appointment until 07/02/2027, at 45.6 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. This is a Fixed Term opportunity while the substantive occupant is on a period of Parental Leave. PositionProfile We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of integrated care plans, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based clinical care that is responsive to the needs of our patients. You will apply your skills and experience to assess and treat cognitive, emotional, and functional challenges, including engaging in treatment, positive adaptation to disability, emotional and psychological coping, family adjustment, and cognitive changes due to injury or neurodevelopmental conditions, with the aim of helping individuals to overcome barriers and enhance participation in life activities. You will work closely with the child and their family to maximise adjustment to injuries or chronic conditions, facilitating independence in their rehabilitation goals and supporting each child’s recovery, rehabilitation, and education. Key responsibilities include: - Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support children and families through their rehabilitation journey, addressing challenges related to disability, trauma, and quality of life. - Providing mentorship, supervision, and training to junior staff and contributing to the professional development within the department and broader clinical community. - Actively participating in research and development activities, aiming to enhance service delivery and contribute to the broader field of rehabilitation psychology. - Providing education within the team and to other Clinical Psychologists and departments. - Actively engaging with universities about rehabilitation specialisations and seeking opportunities to collaborate nationally including benchmarking and teaching opportunities. - Developing intervention and group programs within the Kids Rehab psychology team. The ideal candidate will have experience in rehabilitation and disability psychology with an demonstrated ability to lead and develop clinical programs and initiatives. Please note a Master or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and eligibility for full registration and endorsement in Clinical Psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia is a requirement for this role. Prior health sector experience is preferred but not required. Relevant experience in working with children and families will be highly regarded; however applicants with relevant experience in adult care will be provided the opportunity for support and education to translate your knowledge to a paediatric setting. About Our Team: Kids RehabWA is an integrated, state-wide service specialising in rehabilitation services for infants, children and adolescents with acquired or congenital neurodevelopmental disorders or neurological injuries. Our speciality streams include acquired brain injury, spinal rehabilitation, early intervention, cerebral palsy mobility service, intensive rehabilitation (iRehab), limb difference, and the iThrive complex neurodisability service. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on helping individuals adjust to disabilities and trauma, improve functional outcomes, establish personal goals and participate in daily activities and educational pursuits, including reintegration into home and school life. We support families to navigate their child’s developmental stages and changing needs in relation to their medical condition or disability, with a focus on enhancing overall quality of life. Through our dedicated clinical research space and in collaboration with our Consumer Steering group, the Telethon Kids Institute, universities and other hospitals, our active research team drives an ambitious research agenda ensuring children and youth have access to the latest evidence-based medicine and services to improve functional outcomes and unlock their potential.
