AIS Marine Pty Ltd, a leading provider of specialized marine mechanical engineering services for large commercial vessels in Australia, is seeking a skilled and experienced Welder (Marine) to join our dynamic and dedicated team based in Sydney, NSW. Our core expertise lies in the comprehensive overhauling, precise repair, and proactive maintenance of main engines, auxiliary engines, and all associated critical marine machinery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality welding, fabrication, and repair work on vessels, marine structures, and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Salary range offered for this full time in Sydney is $80K to $100K plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication on a variety of marine materials including steel, aluminium, and stainless steel.
• Carry out repair and maintenance work on vessels, ship components, and maritime infrastructure.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Conduct inspections of welds to ensure quality and compliance with marine engineering standards.
• Work in confined spaces and at heights as required in shipyard and offshore environments.
• Collaborate with other trades and team members to complete projects on time.
• Adhere strictly to workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum AQF Certificate IV in Welding or equivalent overseas qualification, or equivalent experience in the marine or shipbuilding industry.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-core welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of marine-grade materials and corrosion prevention methods.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant welding certifications (e.g., AS/NZS 1554 or equivalent) are highly regarded.

Work Environment:
This role requires flexibility to work in shipyards, dry docks, and onboard vessels. The position may involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions, in confined spaces, and at heights.
