Marcellin College, a leading Catholic boy's school, presents an opportunity for a dynamic Library Assistant / Library Technician to join our team on a full-time or part-time ongoing basis commencing Term 1, 2026.

As a Library Assistant / Library Technician, you’ll play a key role in enhancing student learning and supporting teaching excellence. You will help keep essential readings and course materials up to date, maintaining library records in the College System. You’ll also be a welcoming presence, assisting library users through various service channels. Whether it’s conducting student orientations or providing front-desk support, you’ll be helping to make the library an accessible and valuable resource for all.

You will work closely with the Library Manager and a collaborative library team, following established processes while having opportunities to engage with students and staff in a dynamic, state-of-the-art environment.

Requirements / Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will bring:

- A willingness to uphold the vision and values of Marcellin College

- Current Police and Working with Children Check (or a willingness to obtain them)

- Knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning, educational issues, and the Victorian Curriculum as they relate to the provision of learning resources

- Experience with a relevant Library Management System (LMS) and other ICT software

- A demonstrated innovative and passionate approach to books and reading

- An understanding of the role of readings and information resources to teaching and learning in an academic environment

- Demonstrated experience working with systems, creating and editing data records, and other technologies such as scanning

- A basic understanding of copyright as it applies to the Australian educational environment is advantageous

- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Work experience in another library role or school is desirable
