Upper Murray Seeds is one of Australia’s largest independent pasture seed businesses, family-owned and proudly Australian. Since 1993, they’ve been breeding, producing, and wholesaling high-quality pasture seeds that help rural businesses thrive.

With a 600-hectare research station, they manage the full production process from seed to wholesale. Their products support livestock grazing, land care, turf, mine rehabilitation and viticulture, and they’re trusted in markets both in Australia and overseas.

About the Role

This newly created role supports the existing VIC sales team. As Area Sales Manager - Eastern & Central Victoria, you’ll be on the front line, building relationships with rural retailers, agronomists, and independent advisors across the region.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you’ll bring your energy, expertise, and curiosity to a role with autonomy and real impact. This role is about listening to client needs, building trust, and helping farmers get the best out of Upper Murray Seeds’ varieties.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain relationships with rural retailers and producers.
- Support the UMS sales team in growing and servicing client relationships.
- Continued personal development and translating that development into value for customers.
- Represent the business at field days, conferences, and industry events.

About You

We’re looking for someone who loves agriculture and enjoys connecting with people. You don’t need to be a qualified agronomist; what matters is understanding farming, being curious, and being comfortable working independently.

- Solid understanding of agriculture/agronomy.
- Sales experience highly regarded. Exposure to ag or technical sales could set you up well.
- Strong communication skills - you can explain technical details in plain language.
- Self-motivated, organised, and happy working across retail outlets, farms and offices/WFH.
- Keen to build a long-term career in technical sales within a growing business.
- Hold a valid driver’s licence and be open to regular travel.

Location is flexible: you could be based in Central or Eastern VIC (Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, Gippsland, Echuca, Shepparton, Benalla, Mansfield, Yea).

A proven interest in forage and pasture seeds will be highly regarded.
