Employment type: Various Permanent and Fixed Term positions; Part Time with flexible hours (min. 18 - 36 hours per week)
Remuneration: Salary (pro rata) – Attractive rates commensurate with experience (as determined by the EEEA 2020), plus superannuation
Location: This role may be required to work at any of the kindergarten locations throughout the Wyndham Municipality
About the role
We are seeking Early Childhood Educators who are passionate, motivated, enthusiastic, and who share a commitment to Early Childhood Education by providing innovative and quality outcomes for children. You will support our first, and second year of kindergarten children by providing engaging and inclusive programs with the support of your service team across 23 Wyndham Kindergarten Sites.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to share your skills in our Early Education and Care Services team, we provide a unique play-based environment that encourages learning through experimentation, trial and error, watching, listening and participating. You will report to the Kindergarten Team Leader.
You would be the face of the service as you engage with Council’s diverse community on different levels including building relationships with families, staff groups and the community. Engagements are focussed on ensuring positive family and community participation in line with Council’s integrated service approach.
Our Educators work a 46/52 week employment cycle which enables staff to be paid while the kindergarten’s are closed over each term break while receiving 46 weeks' salary payable over 52 weeks of the year. Annual leave of 4 weeks is paid over the January term break.
What your day will look like
Fostering a warm, welcoming environment, where you will help create an inclusive environment where supportive and respectful partnerships with all families are paramount
Throughout the day, you will contribute to a team environment that ensures every child, including those with additional needs, are supported in a high-quality Kindergarten program.
You will collaborate with colleagues to assist in planning and documenting activities, contributing your ideas and expertise to the process.
Continuous improvement will be at the heart of your work as you actively seek ways to enhance your practices and outcomes.
You will follow best practice procedures, aligning with the unit’s policies and guidelines to ensure a smooth and effective day.
Strong communication and teamwork skills will be essential as you work alongside others to create a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
What you will bring
Certificate 3 in Children’s Services (Graduates are encouraged to apply)
Strong interpersonal skills and a teamwork ethos
Understanding of the variety of local, state and commonwealth guidelines and regulations, and the ability to ensure compliance in line with council policies
An understanding of the Child Safe Standards and current reforms
Current certificates in Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management and First Aid
A current Working with Children’s Check and agreement to undergo a Police Check
If you progress past the interview stage, you may be required to complete pre-employment screening, which may include police checks, a medical, qualification verification, and an Australian work rights check.
