Overview

Job Title: Cultural Heritage Advisor
Location: Karratha or Perth, WA
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract

Airswift is seeking a Cultural Heritage Advisor to support Aboriginal cultural heritage management across Woodside’s operations and projects. This role ensures compliance with agreements, approvals, legislation, and operating standards, while fostering meaningful engagement with Traditional Custodians.

The successful candidate will play a key role in building internal capability and supporting positive outcomes in cultural heritage matters across the business. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to heritage protection while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of either a metropolitan or regional setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate ethnographic research and manage intangible heritage values.
- Develop and maintain Woodside’s reputation in cultural heritage management.
- Implement heritage projects and ensure delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets.
- Apply Woodside’s heritage policies, procedures, and land use agreements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and land access agreements.
- Maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal Traditional Owner groups.
- Build internal capability to meet cultural heritage obligations and promote best practices.
- Support First Nations, Environment, and Project Approvals teams in protecting Murujuga rock art.

Skills & Experience

- Tertiary qualifications in Anthropology or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within the resources sector.
- Strong understanding of relevant government legislation.
- Manual driver’s licence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety protocols.
