About the role

As Senior Finance Manager at GWA Group, you will oversee all aspects of financial accounting, taxation, reporting, and treasury operations. You’ll ensure accurate financial processes, manage audits, and maintain compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and tax obligations. Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll play a key role in driving process improvements, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring the integrity of financial information across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Taxation

- Lead and develop a high-performing team

- Ensure accurate month-end, quarterly, and half-yearly closing

- Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding matters promptly

- Manage the external audit process and act as the key contact for auditors

- Prepare income tax information and oversee tax compliance and planning

- Assist with income tax provisions and deferred tax accounting journals

- Oversee monthly BAS and PAYG submissions

- Supervise compliance with indirect taxes (FBT, Payroll Tax, Withholding Tax)

- Monitor and manage transfer pricing documentation for ATO and IRD compliance

Reporting

- Prepare Financial Statements and ARC papers (as required)

- Ensure full compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and internal policies

Treasury

- Support the Group Financial Controller and CFO in managing treasury operations

- Oversee daily cash management and loan rollovers, including cashflow preparation

- Prepare treasury risk reports and weekly FX updates

- Monitor financial covenant calculations for banking facility compliance

- Maintain accurate hedge documentation in line with accounting standards
