Position Information
Fairfield High School is a comprehensive, secondary school located in south west Sydney, and caters for the academic and emotional needs of 1054 students. A well established Intensive English Centre is located on site as part of the high school community, which caters for newly arrived students from overseas, refugees and international students. The school has seven special education classes that support the learning of students with intellectual disabilities and autism.
The school has a Family Occupation Employment Index (FOEI) of 183. The school community is culturally and linguistically diverse with 93.5% of students from a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE) (predominantly from Syria, Iraq, Vietnam and the Pacific Islands) and 1% who are from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background. 40% of students require some level of English as an Additional Language or Dialect support (EAL/D). Approximately 50% of students come from a refugee background.

Total Remuneration Package: up to $151,704.00. Base salary ranges from $87,550.00 to $133,846.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Business Studies.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with effective classroom management skills to design and implement engaging, differentiated, and syllabus-aligned programs, resources and assessments to meet the learning needs of a diverse range of students.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic faculty to support whole school initiatives that fosters a culture of high expectations and builds positive relationships with staff, students, parents and the community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
