We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper for a dynamic accounting practice in the CBD. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong grasp of accounting principles and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records. As a key part of the finance team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of financial systems, and supporting the broader team with timely reporting and insights.
THE ROLE
- Perform bank reconciliations, debtor reconciliations, and supplier statement reconciliations
- Process invoice entry, sales journals, and supplier batch payments Manage clearing accounts, prepayments, and inter-entity loan account reconciliations Maintain and prepare payroll and process leave entitlements
- Conduct income and expense accrual management
- Prepare and lodge IAS, BAS, Payroll Tax returns, superannuation compliance obligations
- Reconcile GST, wages, and payroll tax
- Support STP (Single Touch Payroll) reconciliation
- Assist with P&L's and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support stock and inventory, long service leave, and fixed asset reconciliations
- Contribute to FBT reconciliation and management report preparation
- Fixed asset reconciliation, management reporting & consolidated group reporting
ABOUT YOU
- You have a strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation techniques
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and grow into more senior responsibilities
