**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
The Cleansing team focuses on managing the daily presentation of the public domain within the Cumberland City Area, ensuring that it is maintained and presented so that residents and visitors are proud of the area and it meets their expectations.
The Team Member - Cleansing Crew will ensure Council’s local government area is maintained to a level that meets the communities expectations through a quick response program utilising the industries best practice. Your responsibilities will include town centre cleansing, general gardening tasks and street and laneway cleaning.
The successful applicant will require:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in general maintenance duties
- Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with peers, customers and community organisations and an ability to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a strong customer focus with sound customer service skills and the ability to embrace a system of change and continual improvement.
- Current Class C - Car driver’s licence
- Be able to operate multiple cleansing plant (high pressure units, blowers)
- Current Traffic Control and Traffic Management Implementer card (also known as Traffic Control Combo course)
- General Construction Induction Card (White card).

**Position information**: There are five (5) permanent, full-time positions, working a 70 hour fortnight, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement.
The hours of work for these positions vary across the below shifts:
- Morning shift starting at 5am to 1:30pm
- Afternoon shift starting at 10:30am to 7pm
- Night shift starting at 9pm to 5:30pm
This positions will be located at Council's Auburn and Guildford Depots, with frequent travel required across Council worksites and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations.
**Salary information**:The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 4 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,028.87 to $1,183.21 per week, plus 11% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
