**About the role**
Every one of our team contributes to helping make our members’ world better. As an** Actuarial Analyst **in our QInsure Insurance Design and Actuarial (IDA) team, you will be part of a high performing Actuarial team involved in all aspects of the QInsure business.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform the timely gathering of relevant data, including quality assurance to ensure accurate data is used for all calculations
- Perform detailed calculations, modelling, analysis and reporting as required to support the Actuarial Specialists, Actuaries and Senior Actuaries in delivering:
- Monthly and year-end financial results, including profit, policy liability valuations and capital requirements, analysis of profit, claims variance and movement in excess capital
- Quarterly and annual APRA regulatory reports
- Corporate business plan projections
- Analysis of experience and review of assumptions
- Investment strategy management such as policy liability duration estimations and performance analytics
- Pricing of the insurance products
- Contribute to the review of valuation and capital assumptions in accordance with relevant QInsure internal policies and guidelines
- Develop and maintain actuarial models used for experience reviews, pricing, policy liability, capital and corporate business plan calculations, in line with best practice modelling standards
- Contribute to the documentation of model specifications, processes, analyses, and results
- Contribute relevant insights and technical expertise as required to support quality decision making
- Contribute to the preparation of actuarial reports such as Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) Report, Actuarial Valuation Report (AVR), the Financial Condition Report (FCR) Experience Analysis Report, Pricing Reports and Assumptions Reports.
**About you**
If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications include:
- Degree qualified in business or related discipline with actuarial qualifications
- Knowledge and demonstrated Australian experience in the Group Life Insurance industry and related products
- Previous exposure to policy liability or capital valuation approaches
- Demonstrated actuarial modelling skills
- Ability to communicate technical information so that it is understood by both technical and non-technical professionals
- Experience in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
- Understanding of how to identify, assess, and escalate risks according to the Risk Management framework.
This role will be based out of our Brisbane ART offices: 30 Little Cribb Street, Milton
