**What you'll be doing**

Reporting to the Analytics Lead, this Data Analyst role is primarily responsible for the delivery of data analysis and reporting services for the GM of Retail, Pricing Manager, Category Managers, and Buyers through aligning analytics solutions with the business needs (Requirement Collection, Planning, Prioritization, Dashboard Development, and Ad-Hoc Analysis) so that the business can make informed and evidence-based decisions

You Could Expect Your Typical Day To Include Some Of The Following Things:

- Work closely with the relevant business stakeholders to identify reporting and analysis needs to support decision making within the Retail domain
- Intercept business ideas/questions/concerns - translate them into hypotheses, identify the required data points for hypothesis testing, retrieve required data from the database, conduct the analysis and circulate the findings and recommendations back to the business
- Ask probing questions to ensure the business problem and the analysis requirement are clearly defined
- Develop, update, and automate reports and dashboards using Tableau whilst ensuring data quality, data integrity and data accuracy
- Act as a key stakeholder to assist the Retail business in defining KPIs for key business growth initiatives, monitoring them, and deriving direct, meaningful actions from insights.
- Interrogate large datasets to spot trends or patterns, and use analytical skills to find insights and correlations to help the business make strategic data driven decisions
- Undertake data preparation, cleansing, analysis design and visualisation and communicate key findings to key stakeholders.
- Identify and improve potential areas of efficiency and performance of existing reporting functionality - Optimize queries, design data marts, and curate reports in Alation.
- Be the custodian and owner of key retail metrics e.g. GTV, Stock Availability, Profitability, Pricing, etc..
- Identify and measure levers that can be pulled to help shift key business metrics
- As a member of the Data Analytics guild within the business, ensure the delivery of insights, reports, and any other analysis works meet the quality and governance standard set by the group of data practitioners
- Collaborate and work closely with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and ML Engineers to ensure data integrity, scalability, and advanced metrics design
- Convey clear requirements to the rest of the data and analytics team and work closely with them to design and develop any data products required for analytical works (Queries to build data marts that would streamline reporting)
- Act as a key engagement point for all retail related data requests (new data, existing data, and derived data) requests
- Work with business stakeholders within the Retail domain to ensure requests are prioritised and projects and daily work meet deadlines.

**The skills you’ll have**
- Tertiary qualified in relevant discipline (Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within E-commerce or Retail. This includes having experience in scoping, developing and delivering BI solutions and actionable insights
- Proven expertise supporting an ecommerce business and working with very large and complex datasets
- Understanding and experience with ETL and data structures and data modelling e.g. data warehousing and data marts
- Proven experience in using analytics to obtain insights and drive recommendation to make actions to improve and optimise business process and solve the business problem
- Highly proficient with SQL with the ability to write complex SQL - Advanced in BI visualisation tools such as Tableau
- Strong analytical mindset and skills
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and communication skills to translate analytical solution outcomes in the context of business impacts and benefits to a non-technical audience
- Ability to proactively innovate with data to identify opportunities and drive recommendations
- Experience with pricing analytics is a plus
- Statistical programming language like Python or R is a plus
- Must be curious and business outcome focused with a problem-solving attitude
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Commercially minded and highly motivated
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise work as appropriate
