An opportunity has arisen for an experienced
** Assistant Director - HR** to work with a unique Federal agency.

**The Role**

Working within a niche part of Federal Government, this role offers a true opportunity to improve the lives of others in a busy and diverse role.

Reporting to the Director of HR and Info Management this role will support the Director of HR and provide leadership to the Section and cross functional areas and will establish and maintain strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties will include but not limited to:

- Support EL2 Director, HR & Information Management Section.
- Supervise team members and ensure they are effectively supporting colleagues and the work of the Department.
- Provide Department workforce with timely advice in line with AGD HR policies and Enterprise Agreement managing the HR inbox and delegating responsibilities to team members.
- Oversee ongoing recruitment processes in line with Department Recruitment Strategy.
- In consultation with Director, review and update Department position descriptions for future recruitment processes.
- Lead the HR team to produce outcomes in line with policies and procedures and the HR Strategy
- Promote positive culture across the organisation utilising internal communications to provide regular messaging to the workforce.
- In consultation with AGD Performance and Wellbeing, manage internal case management issues that arise seeking preventative measures to resolve potential formal processes being implemented.
- Develop and implement customised induction training to incorporate HR, IT, Facilities and mandatory Security Awareness training requirements.

- Well presented, articulate and confident.
- Experience working with sensitive and confidential information.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to confidently communicate requests and instructions to individuals and groups.
- Strong capacity to build and nurture effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
- Commitment to, and enthusiasm for, client service and delivery.
- Possess flexibility and adaptability to manage changing work requirements and varying volumes of work.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, solve problems, manage and meet deadlines and maintain a high quality of work with limited supervision

**Australian Citizenship** and the ability to obtain a
**Baseline**
**Security Clearance** to be considered.
