Our Area Operations Managers are essential to ensuring effective operations across our refineries and are a critical part of the leadership team in ensuring a safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

In this role, your strengths will lie in your ability to develop and support a team to deliver success through others for your operation centre whilst also working with the wider management team to deliver towards wider site targets and objectives.

Core responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Provide leadership and management to the Production and the Mechanical and Electrical maintenance groups.- Ensure issues relating to safety, health and environment, production, maintenance, process and equipment development, cost control and people development are identified and properly addressed.- Accountable for establishing and achieving production, safety, environment, efficiency, and cost targets.- Active management of task forces formulating recommendations across the plant on issues of training, recruiting, safety initiatives, industrial relations initiatives, organisational design, productivity initiatives, maintenance strategy etc- Hire, train and develop a well-developed team taking in to consideration succession planning and development paths.- Ensure that the operation centre has an effective cost and productivity improvement program.- Responsible for setting and achieving the department operating budget and responsible for setting and co-responsible for achieving operating centre capital budget.- Ensure a strong focus on safety is developed and maintained across your team.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
- Engineering degree ideally from a Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical background.- Experience in large scale, complex production environments.- Track record of driving results and best practice around quality, production, and safety.- Experience in operational leadership positions where you can demonstrate continuous improvements to the operations you have led.- Developed and/or implemented organisational EH&S programmes.- Ability to achieve results through others, with a highly collaborative management style.- Excellent relationship building skills with an ability to engage and communicate with individuals across the team and wider business.
